#2 (ELEVATION AND DEPRESSION)
JUNE 2024 P1

Depression is the angle formed between the horizontal line and the hypotenuse of the triangle (in this case).
To make it simple, think about it from the perspective of an observer:
The observer is at T, looking down at A.
Therefore, the angle of depression of A from T.

Elevation is the angle formed between the vertical line and the hypotenuse.
Yet again, think from the perspective of an observer:

The observer is at X, looking up at Y.
#3
JUNE 2024 P1

This is a semicircle and a triangle combined; we need to find their area separately and then add the areas.

#4
NOV 2024 P1

Notice that we have all the sides and an angle; therefore, we can use the cosine rule.

BEWARE!: Many students just find the x and leave the answer at that, thus losing marks due to a distracted mind.
